Regular brushing is the most effective way of keeping your pets mouth healthy. Signs of a healthy mouth are:
Without sufficient dental care your pet may start to suffer from dental disease. The major signs of dental disease are:
Feeding soft foods that do not provide sufficient crunch can cause the above. This leaves a sticky film on teeth known as ‘plaque’. If not removed this plaque hardens into a calculus of tartar that can dig into the gums causing inflammation. Bacteria can enter the bloodstream through a large network of blood vessels located near the gums. Recent studies have shown that the heart, liver and kidney disease can be associated with these bacteria, especially in the older pet whose body’s defences are not as good.
These can be used as a training aid or and an alternative to a toothbrush if your pet will not tolerate brushing.
This is a gel that is applied to the gums or the paws so that the animal licks it off. It’s based on a multi enzyme complex that inhibits the bacteria responsible for plaque. It is not as effective as brushing but it can help.
These are chews for dogs that are shaped specially to help reduce tartar build-up on the teeth.
When brushing is completely out of the question, DENTAL DIET with its specially formulated kibbles, is an effective substitute. Dental kibbles can act in many ways to help maintain dental health.
These are nutritional supplements, which have been formulated to promote dental health. They increase the efficacy of Dental diet and can be given with any complete diet. They act on dental plaque and tartar by:
ProDen Plaque Off is a patented, unique and natural preparation, suitable for both cats and dogs.It is a natural product which contains a special type of seaweed (D1070) which has been discovered to have specific beneficial effect for oral care. It comes in a granulated form, which is easily added to food every day. It is rich in iodine and contains important vitamins and minerals.
Plaque Off works systematically i.e. through the blood stream. It is thought to affect the ability of plaque to ‘stick’ to surfaces in the mouth and softens hard tarter deposits.

Clinically proven to control plaque is a novel approach to plaque inhibition. Dentagena contains the active principle RF2 (surface biofilm control) which is clinically proven to control dental plaque. A unique integrated approach that is easy to use and is available in two formulations.
Applied after a dental procedure provides protection against plaque from the moment it’s applied.
Highly palatable, chews that supplement the levels of the RF2 to maintain the inhibition of plaque formation. The special design and shape of the chew provides mechanical cleaning right to the gum line. These chews are available in two sizes and contain nine foil packed chews suitable for 18 days plaque control.

Felt confident that my pet would be looked after.
Kind caring and personal service.
Brilliant care of our pet and would happily recommend to all.
We have been visiting this vet for the last ten years and never received anything but kindness and attention. Our elderly Brittany contracted an eye infection and despite all our panic Nick Smith and his excellent team saw us through some of the worst days of pet ownership. Purdey is now much better and although she has lost the sight in her right eye she is as mischievous as ever.
My cat went missing and I phoned around everywhere to see if she had been found. The lady I spoke to at this vets was very helpful and gave me lots of people to ring and spent time with me to try and ease my mind. Thankfully she was found locked in my neighbours garage. I just want to say a huge thank you for your support even though I am not a customer of yours.
I've been with PetCare for more years than I care to remember. Always been excellent. Nick is a fantastic vet and I like the fact that he's very down to earth with me.
3 years ago the whole team were wonderfully sympathetic and caring when we had our gorgeous dog Murphy put to sleep. Everything was handled beautifully. We still feel huge gratitude.
Pet Care have been looking after our Cocker puppy, Joe, since we got him six weeks ago and everyone has been a delight to work with. Joe came from a pretty awful breeder, just in it for the money, but the team at Pet Care have him bouncing around chasing anything that moves in the garden. A lovely team. :)
Best veterinary practice you can go to! I had the most amazing service here from Maria! She really is an amazing vet. She is so smiley, friendly and just lovely she makes conditions easy to understand and will go the extra mile to help your pet. I now travel over an hour just to use this practice and to have my pup seen by Maria. I know I will have an amazing service and walk out of there smiling knowing everything is sorted and what needs to be done. Also with this practice there is no horrible corporate prices, they tell you exactly what is needed without putting extra unnecessary costs on top. If you are looking for a Vet look no further As Maria is the Vet you want to see.
